 | The company was founded on May 3rd, 1961, local holiday of the city of Amatitlán, Guatemala. This city was founded on 1549 and its traditions go back to prehistoric times, when the natives offered tributes to the water gods. The water we use comes from springs of thermal water, which in a natural way flow out of the surrounding walls of our wells. The thermal water is sulfured as well and comes from the wonderful veins of the Pacaya volcano. This place was built to offer the pure, natural and health benefits of thermal waters in a unique and traditional environment. |
The construction of this balnearium has a unique arquitectural design that uses a lot of stone-like finishings, which gives it an aged and natural look. In one of the swimming pool areas is the main edification that resembles a stone castle with a height equivalent to an eight of nine story building. Stairs were built to reach the top of the castle and enjoy of a panoramic view of the city of Amatitlán. For decades, our balnearium has been visited to enjoy a family day in our pools, to relax in our hot steam baths and sulfur water baths or to enjoy a traditional and delicious “mojarra” in our restaurant. (A “mojarra” is a type of fish that is traditionally served fried in Guatemala). Visit also Kawilal Spa (www.kawilal.com ), a unique SPA in Guatemala offering natural and organic treatments. Located 30 minutes away from Antigua Guatemala and Guatemala city, come visit us and discover the experience of the thermal water of Amatitlán!
